Research
The Research Working Group of the Research Autopsy Procurement Society (RAPS) is dedicated to developing guidance and establishing a framework for best research practices to aid the discovery of novel scientific findings.
We strive to:
Foster new collaborative partnerships between teams involved in research autopsy programs, leveraging unique expertise and opportunities for new research studies.
Encourage the integration of novel scientific techniques and experimental approaches utilizing autopsy samples in research autopsy programs.
Disseminate and exchange established laboratory sample processing and banking protocols across existing and future research autopsy programs to ensure consistent and best practice based on prior experience using tissues and blood obtained at autopsy.
Inculcate transparent and open discussions between researchers working in autopsy programs to support cross-collaboration and learning, and to share research findings that may be informative for scientific and clinical communities.
